As a lover of all things photography, I was excited when digital cameras were invented. This meant I could take lots of photos and only print the ones I liked. It gave me tons of room to experiment and shoot textures, colors, and random things for reference. I was in heaven. But then I noticed something happening. The photos hanging around my house were aging and there didn’t seem to be a lot showing up to replace them. I know I’d been taking tons of photos… I just haven’t been printing them. If you are like me, outside of the occasional scrapbook or photobook, you have loads of unprinted photos sitting on your memory cards or computers. Well it’s time to set some of those photos free by creating inexpensive, cute wall frames with a touch of Disney Magic! Perfect for those vacation photos!
All you need for this project is:
- Frames: I used Clips Frames from Ikea, $.99 for four frames! But any frames will work.
- Rub-ons: I recommend using rub-ons in white, black, gold, or silver. Other colors might clash too much with your photos. You can find this at any craft store in the scrapbooking section. I used Creative Imagination Rub-ons from their Magic collection.
- Photos – I used photos from my 2002 trip to Walt Disney World with my mom.
That’s it! Total project was under $5!
All you need to do is position the rub-ons on the frame, rub them on, and insert a photo! Then hang a cluster of the frames on the wall and you have a beautiful photo display of your vacation memories! Or if you don’t want to hang them on your wall, place a few frames in a grouping on a table. Get those photos out of the cameras and onto display!
Here are some close-ups of some of the frames. You might not be able to tell from the photo but “Magical” and the stars are in a glittery silver and “Memories” is in white.

These came out great and so simple to do!
Great idea! I’m looking for subtle (and obvious) ways to bring some Disney into our house.
