Top 5 Drinks You Must Try At Club Cool

Club Cool located in Epcot’s Future World beside Fountview Cafe is a great place to try Coca-Cola flavors from around the world. Some are unique, some tasty, some strange, some interesting and some just not the favorite of many. Here are my top 5 must try drinks at Club Cool and they’re aren’t necessarily the best tasting of the bunch, but ones worth trying for the experience. These are the ones that are unique and very different from what you can pick up at your local grocery store.

#5 – Beverly (Italy) – I know you are wondering how in the world Beverly could make the list. The drink is known for its bitterness. It’s one of those drinks that you have to try… just so you can say you’ve tried it. It has such a reputation for being a horrible drink and for that reason, you can’t pass it up. It’s such a joke to everyone in the Disney community. Many people who have tried it and know it’s bitterness trick others into trying it just to see the sour face they will make. The joke has even carried over to the station that I’m a DJ for, Sorcerer Radio. The station owner has a song “Beverly”, that was written and performed by DJ Sorcery (the artist also know as Sorcerer – the station owner). For your enjoyment, click HERE for a brief audio clip of part of the song.

#4 – Lift (Mexico) – Lift is a drink that comes in many flavors around the world (over 13 flavors in different countries) but in Mexico, it’s apple. If you are a fan of apple this is one that you must try.

#3 – Fanta Kolita (Costa Rico) – Very sweet and probably one of the most popular among children. This is a cherry flavored Fanta that is one that you might want to give a try to get rid of that bitter taste from drinking Beverly. Did I mention that it’s really sweet? I mean really sweet.

#2 – Mezzo Mix (Germany) – A personal favorite of mine. I don’t like Coke unless it is the fountain style where they add in the vanilla syrup themselves. However, this cola with a hint of orange is great. On the “Flavors Around the World” machine there is a sign saying that Germanys mix them with their beers. This is no lie… in Germany you can find many canned beers that are already mixed with every kind of soda fountain drink you could think of.

#1 – Smart Watermelon (China)  – This is a favorite of mine due to the Florida heat. It’s sweet and refreshing. This is a favorite of most because it’s sweet but not overly sweet and easy to drink. Watermelon is one of those fruits that just reminds you of summer so whether it’s a hot, humid Florida summer day or one of those cool, winter days… give Smart Watermelon a try.

Have you tried these? Which is your favorite? If you actually like Beverly… I’d love to hear it. I’ve only seen one person ever at Club Cool say that they like it and not spit it out.

Strange as it sounds, I enjoy the Beverly (as does my husband). I’m not much of a soda person, but I do like mixed drinks. Since the Beverly has quinine, like tonic water, it’s a taste I’m familiar with. It’s the really sweet ones I don’t like so I prefer the Beverly and Kinley (Israel), although Mezzo Mix isn’t bad.

I think some of the reasons people don’t enjoy the Beverly is 1) it’s labeled bitter, setting up expectations, 2) American soda is so sweet, so that’s what we associate with soda, and 3) it tastes even more bitter after having the sweeter flavors.

Don’t forget the Krest Ginger Ale!
Especially if you have someone who has just gotten sick on Mission: SPACE!

I’m sure most people know, but just in case, real ginger is calming for the stomach and sprites and such are often too sweet to settle a sick tummy .. I personally got sick while in EPCOT one day and got my self over to Club Cool initially to get a water and then remembered there was ginger ale. I drank a cup or two and was able to sit outside and cool down and get back on track!

I actually love Beverley! Its the absolute best thing for my crazy stomach problems. I wish we could buy it in the states, but I guess I’ll have to make due with a bitters and soda!
