Everything Pop Century!

Pop Century Lobby HDR Photo

The Pop Century Resort is my favorite of the Value Resorts in Walt Disney World!  I like all of the other Value Resorts, but Pop Century has a special place in my heart.  I particularly like the pop icons that are displayed in the lobby and on the sides of the buildings.  I was born in the late 60’s so I can really relate to the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s because I was growing up during those years. This photo of the Pop Century Lobby is one of my favorites that I took in December of 2010.  I had to get up really early to snap this HDR picture.  Notice the lack of people in the lobby!  The only way to get a picture without people in it is to get up real early or stay up really late.  This is one of my tips for getting photos without people walking through your picture.

Camera: Nikon D7000

Lens: Tokina Ultra Wide Angle 11-16mm Photos taken at 11mm

ISO: 1000

Aperture: f2.8

Shutter: 1/30 sec

Exposure: -1 ev, 0 ev, + 1ev

I have a special treat for you this month as well because I attended the D23 Destination D Event in Walt Disney World on May 14th and 15th, 2011.  During one of the presentations some Imagineers presented a lot of concept art for the new Art of Animation Value Resort that is currently being built right behind Pop Century.  They revealed some brand new illustrated drawings and room pictures.  So I wanted to share some of these pictures with the WDW Fan Zone readers.  Keep in mind that I was taking pictures of a giant video screen with Imagineers in front of it explaining about this amazing, new resort.  Just click on any of the photos to see a larger version of that photo.  Enjoy!
