When visiting the interactive Haunted Mansion queue,
you’ll notice that they’ve placed a riddle for you,
on the first thing you see when you take the scenic route,
don’t read on if you mustn’t know what it’s about…
I walked past these figures time and again,
not noticing the mystery inscribed on them,
till I visited here with a Mansion-loving friend,
who clued me in, then told me the end.

Here is the message that lies in the middle,
it sets up the mystery you will resolve,
I enjoy that the queue involves a riddle,
It makes you observant and gets you involved.
When you read on you’ll see poison was first,
that killed Uncle Jacob but it wasn’t the worst,
To find his murderer look for the clues,
that are pictured on top of the eulogies for you..
(Ex: Uncle Jacob was killed by poison. On the top of Bertie’s monument there is a picture of a bottle of poison so that means he is the murderer of Uncle Jacob. Now you solve the rest!)
Once you get the gist it’s easy to figure out,
but the final one is a toughy no doubt,
Maude’s eulogy says she ceased in a flame,
But there’s nobody else to take the blame.
The next picture will bring this to an end,
when you see the matches in her bun, my friend.
