DC’s D23 Expo Encounter with Richard Sherman

DC and Richard Sherman

Typically I write about Disneyland for my monthly blog on this site. But, for this blog I wanted to talk about a very special experience I had at the D23 Expo. While there was quite a bit going on and there were points of sensory overload, I was able to have a truly magical experience that was relatively quiet.

While in the press room, I noticed Richard Sherman leaving another room connected to the press room. I walked up to him and asked if he minded taking a picture with me, now mind you this is THE Richard Sherman. I somewhat expected him to say no as his group seemed to want to go but he said YES!

As we were getting ready to take the picture I was very overcome with emotion, this man worked closely with Walt Disney and in my mind was like the equivalent to meeting Walt. I mentioned that I was about to cry and he looked at me and said, “sweetie don’t cry.” I am surprised I didn’t cry but I did maintain composure. Afterwards, he told me to check the photo so that I wouldn’t go home and cry.

It was a totally amazing experience and nothing in the whole expo could top it. I hope that everyone had a magical experience despite some of the glitches that occured.

Have a Magical Day!
