“Where do they get access to such great interviews?” When I think of Waltcast,  that is the first thought I have. Eddie Carroll, Kelsey Grammer, Larry the Cable Guy. . . How do they do it? Well however it happens, we reap the
benefits as we are privileged to hear their insights each week.

Shawn and Katie Bonneau, the hosts of this podcast have focused their efforts on what they do best: interviewing various Disney stars, performing musicians, and even the big guns in the Disney online community.

Within the over one hundred episodes, we have followed these 2 crazy kids as they made the move from the frozen State of Maine to sunny Florida, now residing so close they can hear the nightly fireworks. And if that was not a big enough move for them, they also recently, quietly got married.

But it’s their podcast that we are looking at. Their interview style is relaxed and easygoing. We’re not talking TMZ here. No, they keep the conversation light and refreshing, preferring to discuss latest projects, the back stories, and of course their guests’ Disney favorites from characters to attractions to movies. Not to name drop here, but it is amazing to look at the list of people they have had discussions with.      Ok, I have to name drop! Voice over artists like Peter Renaday, Jim Cummings, James Arnold Taylor, even the voice on the WDW monorail Joe Hursch. Musicians from Air Supply, the Gin Blossoms, even Davey Jones and Taylor Dayne. Disney online personalities like Len Testa, Matt Hochberg, and good friends Brian Ripper, Disney Dean and Frank Rogers. And celebrities like Melora Hardin, Andrew Zimmern and John Ratzenberger as well as those previously mentioned make up just a part of  the many guests  they have accessed. Whew, that’s quite a bit of work!

You may have noticed some on that list are musicians. You don’t have to listen long to realize Shawn and Katie both have a loyal following for their favorite bands. Shawn with his reverence of U2 and Katie with her more subdued appreciation for Hanson somehow find their way onto each cast. So it is no wonder that they make a real effort to interview those musicians that come to Disney World. If you make a point to not miss any of the Eat to the Beat Concerts during the Food & Wine Festival or are the ones in the audience singing along to The Flower Power Concerts during the Flower & Garden Festival, you will appreciate the many interviews Shawn & Katie obtain.

So wherever your interest in the Disney Company lies, you are sure to enjoy the conversations that take place once you subscribe to Waltcast. Here are a few of my favorites:

Episode #42 Kelsey Grammer: Discussing his career with Disney, we touch on an incident Kelsey would rather forget and even hear a little naughty Stinky Pete.

Eddie Carroll Interview: Even before his passing this episode absolutely put a smile on my face! How could you not stand up and take notice hearing Jiminey Cricket?

Episode #78 John Ratzenberger: You know you listen for his voice during every Pixar movie. Now hear his interview and how he got that awesome gig.

OK one more! Episode #79 Love him or hate him, he’s Mater! And he’s going to be part of Disney for a long time. Hear how he became this beloved tow truck for CARS.
