There were high expectations for the recent D23 Expo. One of the most highly-anticipated presentations was Disney Parks and Resorts. The previous D23 Expo where the Magic Kingdom Fantasyland expansion was announced set the bar high. What would be announced next for Walt Disney World? Speculation on the web was rampant; there were even rumors of a new wristband that would contain your theme park tickets, hotel room key, charging privileges, and FastPasses. Would the much-rumored Grand Floridian DVC be announced? What about a new Monsters, Inc. ride in Hollywood Studios? Would the rumor of Brazil or Australia as a new country in Epcot’s World Showcase be confirmed? Orlando Attractions Magazine had a list of what it would like to see announced. Most fans were disappointed at the lack of major announcements regarding Walt Disney World. Couple this with Walt Disney World’s 40th anniversary this October and we thought it was a great time to look to the future and ask Zone readers what they would like to see as a fifth theme park in Walt Disney World.
The theme for a Walt Disney World ‘fifth’ gate should be… All about the Sea. The oceans and the underwater world would be a great theme.. -Diane M, New York
The theme for a Walt Disney World ‘fifth’ gate should be… the characters we love to hate……VILLAINS! Karen, Minnesota
The theme for a Walt Disney World ‘fifth’ gate should be… DISNEYSEA like they have in Japan. Lee, NY
A theme park based on the Marvel characters or one with a global theme similar to World Showcase. Each land would be an immersive “continent” with attractions and pavilions based on countries in the continent. Another cool idea would be a theme park with thrill rides that you could customize the intensity level for. Many of the thrill rides would be mild enough for kids but enjoyable for adults also – kind of like most Disney movies. Paul, NJ
I even asked my 5 year old what he would like to see and this is what he come up with:
“Food Options China Food Germany Food Children’s Food
Atraction Options Flying Attractions Atractions That have bumps”
Now it’s your turn…. What would you like to see as a new Disney World theme park?
