Hello again everyone! It’s been a little while since my last post thanks to school, but I have a tiny break before summer classes start and I am in none other than our favorite place in the world. I came down by myself but I have spent a lot of time with some wonderful friends as well (hey to all of you! You know who you are!). As I’ve been down here, I’ve noticed something. I’ve noticed lots of things, actually.
As someone who prides themself as a “DisNerd”, I feel rather confident in not only being informed of new things thanks to wonderful blogs, sites, and podcasts, but also as a history major, someone who genuinely enjoys the history of the parks and attractions.
That being said, I feel like I always notice something new each trip. Perhaps they are simple advancements or things I’ve simply never noticed, but whatever it is, it is new to me! I had decided this trip I really wanted to take some non-traditional or stereotypical pictures in the parks and I’m glad I did. It has forced me to look at things differently, but also WHERE I was looking. I’ve looked up, over, and under a lot more and seen new things. I think my favorite has been really looking at the main street windows.
Stop gasping, I know they exist, I know what they mean, and recognize most of the names. However, I don’t think I’ve ever truly stopped to enjoy them or reflect on what their names stand for to me as a huge Disney fan. Things that have meant so much to me and continue to mean so much, were once part of these people’s imaginations. I even quizzed myself as to what crowning achievement went to each name.
Do you ever notice new things at Disney? Not the obvious new, but perhaps tiny refurbs or things you’ve never really paid attention to? Do you look up, down, over, and under to see these things? For me it keeps Disney fresh and I simply enjoy the newness of it! Please share with us if you have experienced this!
