Hello again everyone.
This weeks post is one that i could possibly get some hate for. After all it is a Tell No Lies edition and I endeavour to please you. For a person that has been going to the World since 1993 I have never stepped foot inside…….Country Bear Jamboree!
I have no answer for you as to why I have never visited the Country Bears. Ive visited Pecos Bill’s plenty of times which is next door but I have never been to Grizzley Hall. I think I head straight to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder and get the hell out of that corner of the park.
The appeal just is not there to me, I’m sorry. I know I should go see the bears due to the historical nature of them. (They opened with Magic Kingdom in 1971 and has been there since and was one of the last attractions Walt Disney helped develop), so for historical reasons I can see the appeal.
Here’s some more history for you. The Country Bear Jamboree was the first attraction to be at both Disney World and DisneyLand. Now I haven’t seen the audio animatronics but I have heard they are looking pretty dated, which is understandable as they are over 40 years old!
The show lasts for precisely 17 minutes and has 15 songs. There are also 18 bears, a buffalo, a stag, a moose, a raccoon and a skunk. That’s alot of animals in one room.
The Country Bears names are:
Henry
Liver Lips McGrowl
Wendell
Teddi Barra
Ernest
Terrence (aka Shaker)
Trixie
Big Al
Bunny
Bubbles
Beulah
Gomer
Zeke
Zeb
Ted
Fred
Tennessee
Baby Oscar
Well have you seen Country Bear Jamboree? Is it worth seeing? If you haven’t seen it, why not?

I am not usually one to give hate to a fellow Disney fanatic, but I have to ask — What the heck do you mean “the appeal is just not there to me” when you’ve never even gone in to experience it? It’s an iconic Walt Disney World attraction and you haven’t had any desire to give it a chance in almost 20 years of going to Disney World??
To answer your question, I have seen CBJ more times that I can remember. It is a timeless attraction that has a very broad appeal. It’s true that it’s not a big thrill ride attraction like Splash Mountain, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t awesome. In fact, it embodies Walt’s vision of an attraction that an entire family can enjoy together.
I have seen the Country Bears Jamboree numerous times and I make sure I see it on all my infrequent trips. It’s hokey – but a respite from the heat – you’re sitting inside an air-conditioned building and you can rest your tired feet. I guess I like it because the songs are not that long and I also find it entertaining! It’s part of Disney. I would recommend anyone seeing it at least once.
No hate here! I’ve seen it once — because it is, after all, a Disney classic — but I think that once is enough for me!
