Hello all! Back with another Cool Disney Find for you! It is the Gourmet Mickey Collection from Disneystore.com.
Some of my collection
This collection was first released a couple of months back. I was immediately in love and wanted to add it to my personal Disney collection. The collection includes dinner plates, dessert plates, bowls, towels, apron, potholders, ramekins, measuring cups, a spoon rest, and silverware (the silverware has actually been out quite some time, as I got bunches last December – but its still considered part of the collection). I didn’t want to pay full price, so I decided to wait for a good sale to come up.
Last month during the Disney Friends and Family event (extra 25% off wooooohoooo) I decided it was time to place an order. Sadly, the dinner plates were out of inventory by then. But I managed to order 4 bowls, 4 dessert plates, the ramekins, the towels, and the potholders. Here’s a tip you may not know. Just because an item is out of stock on DisneyStore.com doesn’t mean its gone for good! I have checked back often for the dinner plates, and was thrilled last week to find them available again (sadly they are gone again this week for anyone else still wanting to order). So if there’s something you really want from DisneyStore.com, keep checking, it could come back!
Overall I’m very happy with the collection and would definitely recommend it. The detail on the plates and bowls is delightful. Both the Mickey sketch in the center of the bowl and the raised Mickey’s along the edges. I also think the black edges adds a nice touch. I love the little details on the oven mitt. And the ramekins are perfect size for a little guacamole for an afternoon snack. I’m not thrilled with how the towels wash up, but if you wanted to use them just for decoration they’d be perfect. Otherwise they come out of wash pretty wrinkled and would need a good ironing before displaying again.
