Happy September 1st! Can you believe it’s already September?? Where has this year gone!? I can’t believe the time is flying by!
Since I don’t foresee a trip down to WDW this fall (unfortunately), I was thinking of the different happenings and events coming up the next few months that I am anxious to live vicariously through my friends who visit WDW frequently and my favorite podcasters who cover all the WDW news. I will be glued to my laptop this fall for these 5 events!
5. Test Track refurb/CarsLand rumor-mill
I am excited to see what the refurb will be for TT, we missed a ride on the “original” the last 2 trips, both due to rain, which I was really bummed about! Hopefully when we return next summer to ride the “new” version, the rain will stay away. It sounds like it will be very exciting and interactive! I love how a lot of attractions now are gaining this interactivity to them! Also, I am excited of the possibility of Carsland coming to DHS…I know it’s only a rumor now, but its an exciting one. DHS needs a new area to draw people into and I think this could be a great addition to the park! So, we will wait and see what happens!
4. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party/ Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
This past weekend, I was surprised to see pictures of Halloween decorations going up at The Magic Kingdom already! It’s only the end of August, I thought, but then realized, that MNSSHP starts in just a few short weeks! I really am hoping to get to this event within the next 2-3 years, as well as MVMCP! They both really look like so much fun and with the opportunity to have limited crowds and awesome meet and greets with “rare” characters, I am really looking forward to them!
3. Lou Mongello’s WDW Radio 2.0 Dream cruise
This will be bittersweet for me to follow along with, since I had planned to attend this cruise, but had to change my plans! I am so excited still though to follow along with all my friends who will be attending and figure it will give me time to plan and save more for when Lou sails on 3.0!!
2. Epcot’s 30th anniversary celebration!
I can’t believe I am only 3 years older than Epcot. I have grown up in that park. It’s always held a special place in my heart, even though it was the “educational” park…I always loved visiting the original Journey into Imagination and The Living Seas. I don’t remember Horizons or World of Motion as much…we usually spent more time on the east side of the park! But I am excited for this celebration and look forward to following along. I really wish I could be down there to celebrate but so far my Fairy Godmother hasn’t showed up!
1. The opening of New Fantasyland!!
It would only be better if I could be there in person to see! I have been lucky enough to watch the construction during my last 2 WDW trips and follow along online with every update! It has been incredible to watch and I can not wait to walk into this new area next summer with Princess Kayla and dine at Be Out Guest Restaurant! My favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast and I always dreamed what it would be like to be in her castle…and now I will finally have that chance and to share it with my daughter who also loves Beauty and the Beast! Then to also be transported into Ariel’s Grotto, Prince Eric’s Castle, and the new Storybook Circus areas…wow! We got to enjoy SBC half open back in May on our trip and it was already incredible, I can’t wait to see the full finished project!!
