Hello again, today I would like to tell you about how our days at Disney are being planned so far. As you know we are arriving on a Thursday and checking into the Bay Lake Tower. We will be on property in time for lunch, yummy. We have plans to go over to Disney’s Polynesian Resort for lunch at Kona Cafe. Then we are going to tour the Polynesian, The Grand Floridian & Disney’s Contemporary Resort as my dear husband hasn’t had the chance to do this until now. I have done some research which said the Christmas decorations go up at the resorts the day after Thanksgiving and the Magic Kingdom being completed by the 1st Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP). We have never been down to Disney for the holidays. Seeing the Christmas decorations will be a very special experience for both of us. With saying that, MVMCP tickets have been purchased. We received a discount through our DVC membership and the tickets will be available when we arrive on our Key to the World Card. The discount is available on select nights, so be sure to see what nights are available. I heard these dates book up quickly, so don’t wait too long to advance purchase them. Our visit will be the night of our arrival. I have booked a reservation for us at a new restaurant to us, The Plaza Restaurant. After we have dinner we will go back to the rides and all the events that the MVMCP has to offer!
On Friday, believe it or not, I will be attending my very 1st Magic Kingdom rope drop with my best friends Shelley & Jo! I am letting my dear hubby sleep in this day. I will be spending the morning with the birthday girl Shelley! So excited! They are going to introduce me to something we just haven’t been able to make all our visits. Then in the afternoon I will go back and get Keith to go ride the monorail. I did this with Nancy last July and it was so much fun to see everything riding the monorail. The rest of the day is play by ear, you never know where we may end up. We do want to make it back to Bay Lake Tower to enjoy the Top of the World Lounge to see the gorgeous Magic Kingdom fireworks display.
Saturday, we are transferring to Disney’s Boardwalk Villa’s. If you know me you know that this whole venue has been my favorite since Nancy & Phil introduced us to their way of vacationing. I just adore the entrance to the Boardwalk. I love walking the Boardwalk with all the restaurants and shops. We will be dining at Cape May Cafe this evening. This is one of my favorite restaurants. Then we will take in the Boardwalk to walk off the buffet we eat, hehe. We may even wander into Epcot this evening, as my hubby loves Epcot, and why not its just over the bridge.
Well for now this is where we stand! I have Sunday and Monday to plan. We aren’t sure how we want to plan those last full days. Keith has mentioned going to Animal Kingdom but we may be able to do that Saturday morning. I think I may surprise him. He likes to choose the days closer to the trip plus see how the extended park hours are laid out for the visit. I will look into this closer to November. We will be going to Disney Hollywood Studios to see the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights.
As you may have noticed when I was discussing our dining plans I didn’t mention the Disney Dining Plan (DDP). The reason I didn’t book the DDP is because my hubby likes to snack at times & not have a full meal. Plus we use our Disney Visa Rewards we earn from our Disney Visa toward our food. I actually called DVC today to verify the price of what the Quick service DDP would cost. So the 2 Quick service, 1 snack & a refillable mug is $34.99 per person per night this year. The DVC rep also informed me that since we have 2 reservations for our trip we could book it for the first 2 nights then we could book the next 3 nights. We don’t have to have it for all nights with having the 2 reservations. This might be a way to have my hubby try it out. Hmmm this may be an option for the 3 nights we have at the Boardwalk. See I have used the DDP in the past with my DVC BF Nancy and I thought it was so nice & convenient.
My next article will have the things we will try to ride that we haven’t yet, as hubby also mentioned the last time we watched the Disney DVD we keep skipping some rides, why? So for now I hope you have a very Magical Day!
