The Great Movie Makeover

It was about a month ago when Disney announced the removal of the Sorcerer’s Hat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Now, Disney has announced a partnership with Turner Classic Movies to makeover the Great Movie Ride.

This new partnership will include the airing of Disney movies and television shows on the Turner Classic Movies channel. This includes a show called Treasures from the Disney Vault that on December 21st will begin showcasing some classic Disney movies such as Three Caballeros, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, Treasure Island, Little People, and Pollyanna. Other classic TV shows that will air include Davey Crockett, Walt & El Groupo, and Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color.

Perhaps the best news of all is that Turner Classic Movies will sponsor the Great Movie Ride. The Great Movie Ride attraction has been one of my family’s favorite attractions for years. While we love everything about the Great Movie Ride we are also very much looking forward to the changes coming to this classic attraction.

Some of the changes announced include a new pre-ride video narrated by Turner Classic Movies host Robert Osborne and a new attractions finale that will incorporate a new movie montage of the classics. Will there be other changes? All we can do right now is hold on to our seat, relax, and enjoy the movies.
