You may have felt the power of the force recently when a galactic event occurred at the Walt Disney World Resort. With Star Wars’ most legendary villain, Darth Vader, reigning over the races, runners from galaxies far, far away participated in the Inaugural Star Wars Half Marathon- The Dark Side Weekend April 15-17, 2016. It was a thrilling weekend that included the Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side, Star Wars 10K, Star Wars 5K, and the runDisney Kids Races. As with most runDisney race weekends, there were challenges as well. The Dark Side Challenge medal was awarded to those participants who completed the Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side and the Star Wars 10K. The new runDisney Kessel Run Challenge medal was awarded to “Coast-to-Coast” participants of the Star Wars Half Marathon/Rebel Challenge at the Disneyland Resort and the Star Wars Half Marathon -The Dark Side at the Walt Disney World Resort.
