Fun Facts – Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!

I was going through pictures of some of my past Disney vacations when I stumbled along one taken of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! I have seen this attraction numerous times over the years and while there have been some changes including the cast it is a show that never gets old and remains a family favorite.

  • The show is based on the 1981 movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark.
  • The attraction opened its doors 27 years ago on August on August 25, 1989.
  • The show is housed in an outdoor theater that seats 2,000 guests.
  • The show is approximately 30 minutes long.
  • It is the first attraction to use computer automation technology to operate multiple systems that set off a controlled sequence of events that occur during the show.
  • The first act of the show starts with an exact replica of the golden idol used in the Raiders of the Lost Ark movie.
  • The rolling ball is spans 12 feet in diameter and weighs 440 ponds.
  • Volunteer guests are chosen from the audience to appear as extras in the show.
