I have had the lucky opportunity to visit the now Disney Springs throughout its many iterations over the years. I visited Walt Disney World Village during my first trip in 1984, even had breakfast on the Empress Lilly! I’ve also been countless times to the Disney Village Marketplace and the most recent Downtown Disney. I’ve always loved the restaurants, shopping and nightlife and its always had its place on the agenda as a destination, just as important as the parks.
I don’t think I was fully prepared for the grandeur and beauty of the new Disney Springs. On my most recent trip with my Mom, we only had one evening to spend time there, but wish we had more.
First stop, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar! I heard so many wonderful things about this place, and it did not disappoint. We sat in the outside bar area near the water, overlooking The Boathouse, sipped on a Reggie’s Revenge and enjoyed the Glider Sliders. I would absolutely visit again!
Next up, Chef Art’s Homecomin! I was counting down the hours to experience this restaurant, and I cannot wait to go back!! What a meal! I kicked it off with a Moonshine Margarita, Mom tried the Rumshine Punch – sip these slowly, they will knock you for a loop! YUM!!
For appetizers, we ordered Fried Green Tomatoes and Hush Puppies. For dinner, who could pass up the Famous Fried Chicken! Wow! Room for dessert? Not this time, we were stuffed!! I highly recommend Homecomin! You will not regret it!
After dinner, we wandered through various stores to browse. We even ran into the Strolling Piano, singing one of my favorites “I See The Light” from Tangled. How fun!
It was a magnificent night and I highly recommend taking the time to visit Disney Springs on your next trip. It’s a destination all its own with so much to see and do, and eat! Don’t miss it!
