It may only be August, but school’s already back in session in some parts of the country, and that means fall is just a cool breeze away.
This year, Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park will host its annual Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for a record 32 select nights, beginning August 25—the earliest-ever launch date for the ghoulish event—and concluding November 1, 2017. The additional dates mean even more “neighborhood” trick-or-treating through the various lands of the park, where costumed ghosts and goblins, princes and princesses, heroes and villains, and even “mummies” and daddies can stock up on sweets, treats, and themed snacks.
The frightful fun, which, by the way, is actually very family-friendly and not-so-scary at all, features not only the popular candy stops, but also the wickedly fun stage show Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, Happy HolloWishes fireworks spectacular, Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, and Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet:
- Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular. The Sanderson sisters, a trio of witch sisters from the Disney live action film Hocus Pocus, host a wickedly fun celebration with their Disney villain friends at Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage.
- Happy Hallowishes. Creepy colors crawl the Castle as festive fireworks burst high in the sky, set to songs by Disney villains like Cruella de Vil, Jafar, and Oogie Boogie.
- Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade. Led by the Headless Horseman, a masquerade of Disney characters and ghostly floats bring “frights and sounds of the season” through Magic Kingdom Park.
- Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet. The Dapper Dans-style band scares up fun and silly antics in Frontierland.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is spooky fun for all ages! The after-hours event runs 7:00 PM to midnight on select nights and is ticketed separately from park admission. Prices start at $74 per person ages 10+ and $69 for kids 3-9. Costumes are encouraged for ages 13 and under; however teens and adults may dress up too, as long as they adhere to the theme park rules for costume look and safety found at Disneyworld.com/Halloween or by calling 407/WDISNEY.
Happy HalloWishes Dessert Party is available during MNSSHP at additional fees. Also, ticketed Not-So-Scary guests can pair the event with a table-service dining experience. Disney’s PhotoPass images are extra magical during the Party as well. You never know what surprise guest may magically materialize in your photos!
