Submitted for your approval, imagine if you will… a man… a nerd dad, a father and husband of four beautiful Disney princesses. But this nerd dad has a problem. He is torn; torn between two parks but a single ride.
My less than stellar Rod Sterling impression notwithstanding, I am torn. While it’s been a while since I’ve been to Disneyworld, the Disney blues isn’t what’s bothering me. The Tower of Terror and the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout rides are what have me pondering my next move. That said, I’ve never been to Disneyland. I know I’ve always been complacent visiting Disneyworld and I’ve never had the sense of urgency to go to California. That all changed when Disney acquired the Marvel superhero properties. Let’s just say that I have a thing for superheroes. Disneyworld is forbidden from featuring attractions using Marvel superheroes due to a past agreement with Universal Studios. Disneyland has no such restrictions, which brings me to my current conundrum. I am a nerd dad who loves superheroes, but I love the Twilight Zone as well.
After the 1st time I rode the tower of Terror, I thought that it might be Disney’s most amazing attraction. The look, the feel, even the story behind the ride…all are physically stunning and artfully done. Then Disney gains the Marvel properties and converts the Tower of Terror into the Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout. I might have been okay if I hadn’t seen it. Unfortunately curiosity got the better of me and I looked at a few YouTube videos of the Guardians ride. The visuals look awesome and the story behind the ride is cool! Even the queue look great. All of the Easter eggs from the Marvel Cinematic Universe like the cases containing the Ultron robot or Cosmo are incredible! There are even more cool things to see, but I don’t want to spoil them. So I have to go to Disneyland now. Excuse me, I have to have a family meeting to discuss our upcoming trip to Disneyland.
Have you rode the Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout ride? Have you rode the Tower of Terror? How does it compare? Do you like one over the other?
