Greetings fellow Disney fans! I hope you are all enjoying the Fall season. I know I enjoy the air getting a little crisper and the leaves turning (not the falling though…too much raking). There is nothing I enjoy more during this time of year than a hot beverage outside to warm up while I take in all the beauty. For me this can be a task because I don’t just have a mug I use. I have a whole bunch of mugs and tumblers that just happen to be Disney themed. Call it my addiction, but it’s very rare I leave Disney without a new piece of drink ware for my kitchen.
I mean seriously doesn’t every Disney fan have their own, “thing”? For some it is pins, ears, t-shirts or Dooney and Bourke bags. I’d say I like to err on the side of caution, or should I say practicality. I know that on any given day I will use at least 1 mug. To be it’s the easiest way to show my love of Disney at home, in the workplace or community without getting odd stares.
Over the years I’ve definitely rotated some of my mugs out of use, but for the most part each one gets their day to shine. And lookout when friends come over! It is a guaranteed conversation starter. I find it can be a great way to help bridge the gap with some of my non-Disney loving friends. And I am able to explain where some of my excitement for the parks comes from.
I think the exciting thing for me is that while Disney has a few signature mugs that are seen time and time again you can rest assured some mugs shelf lives are not as long. I have some great mugs that I would be hard pressed to find in the parks now. The cool piece is that these mugs are memories for me of certain trips, people and places. To me the memories and joy experienced are what make Disney so special and being able to relive memories when using the mugs is a huge benefit.
So what about you? Do you have a Disney collection? Is there something you just can’t leave the park or a trip without? Feel free to comment below and share your ideas or opinions!
