Walt Disney’s Favorite Foods

On this day, the 5th of December 1901, Walter Elias Disney was born. I bet you already knew that! But, did you know what his favorite foods were?

Walt liked comfort food. A typical breakfast for Walt Disney was fruit juice, toast, and eggs with an added sausage every now and then. For lunch Walt would usually have milk, coffee, and a sandwich. Some of the food Walt Disney liked were hotcakes, macaroni and cheese, hamburgers, roast beef sandwiches, chicken livers, spaghetti, fried potatoes, and canned peas. Walt also liked apple, boysenberry, and lemon meringue pie.

Other food among Walt’s favorites were Chasen’s chili and beans, oyster stew with cheese and crackers, roast lamb with potatoes and gravy, breaded veal cutlets with bread and gravy, spam and eggs with biscuits and honey, chicken fry cube steak, pan-fried chicken with potatoes and gravy, and roast chicken with dressing and gravy. Walt also had a few favorite salads like the Waldorf, tomato and cucumber, carrot and raisin, and a chef’s salad. For desert Walt would have custards, Jell-O with pieces of fruit, fresh or canned fruit, and fresh or canned pineapple.

Although he had an appetite to do the impossible, his taste in food was simple and basic.
