There are new restaurants, lands and attractions popping up all over Walt Disney World in 2018. While I love all the new attractions and lands (especially Toy Story Land) that will be joining the WDW resort, I’m always really excited to see what new restaurants/adult lounges I can visit on my next trip. This past week the buzz around WDW has been centered in Disney Springs for the 3 new restaurants/bars that are opening soon and one this Winter. The Edison, as well as Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante are opening soon; Enzo’s Hideaway Bar will be opening this Winter. The next few of my articles will highlight each new eatery, this month The Edison.
The Edison is a restaurant/bar with a 1920s-feeling with craft cocktails and American eats. With large gears and clocks all over the family-friendly eatery during lunch and the early dinner, there is plenty to look at and enjoy. The lunch menu and dinner menu are similar with a few additions to the dinner menu. Some of the food menu items I’m most excited to try are:
- DB ‘Clothesline Candied Bacon
- Fried Calamari
- Jumbo Lump Crabcake
- Centennial Steak (goat cheese on top)
- The Edison (burger)
- Banana Split
- They also have 28 day dry-aged prime rib.
An extensive drink menu will be served at the tables and can be seen at any of their three bars. Their drink menu includes an array of wines by the glass or bottle, draft beers, can and bottle beers, and mocktails. But the main show on the drink menu will be their house cocktails and signature cocktails (some of which are shareable for the table). Most of the cocktails are made with gin and bourbon while using citrus, bitters and sugar to spice them up. The cocktails have a classic feel to them. The cocktail menu sounds very appealing to me, I enjoy classic old-fashioned cocktails and this menu is definitely talking to me.
Come 10pm nightly The Edison will be closed to the kiddos and becomes a 21+ adult area. During this time, there will be entertainment including DJs and aerialists. Be aware there will also be a dress code. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 10pm there will be a cover charge of $10.
I can’t wait to hear more reviews on The Edison and visit it myself. If you get to visit before I do, let me know your comments on it!
